Bob,

Here are a couple of tools for moving from wordpress to joomla:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migration-a-conversion/data-import-a-export/10237?qh=YTozOntpOjA7czo5OiJ3b3JkcHJlc3MiO2k6MTtzOjEwOiJ3b3JkcHJlc3MnIjtpOjI7czoxMToid29yZHByZXNzJ3MiO30%3D

That one (Jconverter) is for Joomla 1.5 only. You might have to do a double move to get to 2.5.x.

Cmigrator actually looks like the way to go since it is still being developed actively and it supports 2.5:

Google Analyics is reporting a connectivity problem when trying to crawl the Kates& Barlow website- http://www.katesbarlow.com. Fetch as google fails "unreachable" when trying to access the site.

• We first checked with the hosting company - they confirmed that none of googlebot IP is blocked in the in the firewall.
• The client's IT person says that the site is not behind the Kate & Barlow's firewall.
• We did a test and uploaded a plain html file to the site - and fetch as google worked - so the problem is local to the site.

We have verified that all of the settings in Google Analytics and on the website itself are correct.
Do you have any suggestions to help us figure this out?

Thank you!

I would suggest asking bob at this week's if his question has already been answered sufficiently - if not, perhaps we can add to the May agenda. I believe this week's topics will fill the whole meeting. We can figure it out on Wed night (4/25).

Bob,

Also, there are two levels of collation issues. The tables need to be using the correct collation and so do the fields themselves. You actually need to check the collation of the fields in the cb custom fields and custom fields data tables. If you are still getting the errors my guess is that the fields themselves are still not set to the correct collation.

I've had to fix this problem on other sites and that was what was needed.

Henry B would like to know if anyone is familiar with ACYMAILING and could talk about it at one of the meetings.

"This component has a lot of features and settings for every feature, many of which are not clear. ACYMAILING seems to be a pretty good web site for support and documentation. But if anyone with experience with this component would be interested in giving a few minutes at the next meeting, I'm sure it would be something that everyone would find interesting." HenryB

If this hasn't already happened since it was posted, I'll be happy to do it.

I'm working on my second 1.7 site.
It's at http://HaikuGallery.com
This is a replacement for my old CSS/HTML site from 1999.

Component-wise, this is much less ambitious than most of my (J 1.5) sites; it uses only CB and JCE. (No forums, nor file sharing, nor calendars, etc.)

The content and the template customizations are both not yet complete. But I like it so far.

Suggestions welcome.
